The revised Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill 2023, without the Generational Endgame (GEG) provision, prohibits the sale of tobacco and smoking products or their substitutes to minors with a fine of not more than RM20,000 for any individual.
The contentious Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill 2023 has excluded the Generational Endgame (GEG) provisions but kept controls on vape and e-cigarettes, as well as closing loopholes in the existing legislation on smoking products.
The Control of Smoking Product for Public Health Bill 2023 which is set to be tabled on Tuesday is expected to include new amendments involving aspects such as compounds and the inclusion of educational enforcement, said Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
