Penang’s tourism executive councillor Wong Hon Wai has chastised an article by American daily USA Today which ranked Penang Hill ninth on its list of the world’s biggest “tourist traps”.
The Penang Hill was recently ranked ninth in American daily USA Today’s world’s biggest tourist trap list, earning it the distinction of being the only Asian attraction in the top 10.
Penang Hill is one of three Unesco Biosphere Reserve sites in Malaysia and one of 738 reserves worldwide designated as learning places for sustainable development and the exploration of local solutions to global challenges.
