Pakatan Harapan Youth says inappropriate for Bersatu Youth chief to split people due to political differences, urges everyone to join in solidarity for besieged state
In a statement today, Suaram executive director Sevan Doraisamy said the arrest of Harmit Singh “tramples” on laws that safeguard the right to peacefully protest, namely Article 10(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution and the Public Assembly Act (PAA) 2012.
A group of PSM leaders were seen asking the police in a video to explain why Harmit was arrested, to which one of the officers said he crossed the barricade despite being warned against doing so.
Police are still in the process of obtaining statements from the organisers of the Kepung Demi Palestin rally to assist in the investigation under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
