Malaysia continues to lead Southeast Asia in terms of 5G network performance, with the country’s 5G median download speed at 451.79Mbps, which is higher than that for Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, according to Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence report.
Malaysia has proven to the world that the approach it has taken to build a 5G network is successful after emerging at the top spot globally in the 5G consistency score.
In his keynote address at the opening of the Malaysian Pavilion at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2024 in Spain, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said this not only underscores Malaysia's dedication to technological advancement, but also reflects the collaborative efforts of the telecommunications industry, regulatory bodies, and government agencies in establishing a robust and reliable 5G infrastructure.
Responding to Scoop, industry giant said it aims to become ‘operationally focused, commercially agile and cost-efficient’, but did not clarify if it is linked to Petros deal
