The Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry has affirmed that the government will save RM100 billion if the proposed Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill 2023 is passed.
The government intends, by 2040, to ensure the water sector would no longer be seen through the aspect of welfare, but instead having a value for investment, so that water operators in the country can start investing, said the environment minister.
The dam safety flying squad in its inspection from 2021 to 2022 found that eight dams have been damaged and could pose a threat to residents and property in the event of failure.
