An attempt by two Bangladeshi men who were hiding in a drain for two hours to avoid arrest failed when they were caught in an operation by the Immigration Department at the Selangor Wholesale Market in Seri Kembangan here early today.
Authorities covered premises such as clothing stores, eateries, a car wash centre, an entertainment centre and a recreation centre, Bernama reported Sharmanrizal as saying.
Deputy director-general (operations) Jafri Embok Taha said in a statement that the detainees are aged between 6 months and 49 years – originating from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
A total of 80 undocumented migrants were detained in raids by the Negri Sembilan Immigration Department on 19 premises around Seremban, Nilai and Port Dickson from Tuesday till yesterday.
