A former bowling assistant coach was sentenced to six years in prison by the Sessions Court today after he was found guilty of physical sexual assault against a Malaysia Games (Sukma) athlete, six years ago.
The Tawau High Court yesterday sentenced an unemployed Filipino man to 80 years in jail and 24 strokes of the cane on two charges of killing two Indonesian men in Semporna two years ago, but the accused was ordered to serve his sentence concurrently from the date of his arrest on June 26, 2022.
Justice Mohamad Zabidin ordered Poh Khoon to serve the jail sentence from the date of arrest, which was October 9, 2018, and also spared the man from whipping as he is over 50 years old.
