Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he wanted to reintroduce the goods and services tax (GST) when his government was in power, as he shot down a DAP lawmaker’s accusations that he had failed to do so.
The government will prioritise improving the current tax system before deciding whether to reintroduce new taxes such as the goods and services tax, said Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
