A Johor state executive council member has joined the chorus of voices urging the public to ensure their donations for the Palestinian people are channelled through reliable humanitarian aid drives.
Malaysia's first shipment of humanitarian aid for Palestinians weighing 20 tonnes, including medical supplies, was loaded on a special cargo plane which departed for Al-Arish International Airport, Egypt last night.
The Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia has reminded Malaysians against contributing to dubious donation drives claiming to help Palestinians affected by the violence in Gaza.
In a statement, Malaysia Airports said this contribution will be directed to the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine, in a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially in the aftermath of recent unrest in Gaza.
