Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar is on the receiving end of online backlash after a photo of him apparently laughing while visiting flood victims in the state.
The 2023 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations, slated from Monday (January 8) to March 7, will go on as scheduled although Johor is the latest state to be hit by floods, according to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
Minister Fadhlina Sidek said between November 11 last year and yesterday, a total of 133 primary schools, 23 secondary schools, and one Permata centre in Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu, Selangor, Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, and Perak were impacted by the northeast monsoon flood disaster.
A total of 25,438 people have been evacuated to 199 relief centres due to floods and landslides in four states, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Selangor as of noon today.
