Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said these plans included re-diversion plans of water supply by pumping water from the Sg Dua Water Treatment Plant and other dams to the Air Itam Dam to enable it to regain effective water capacity for distribution to users in the surrounding areas. 

Air Itam dam’s capacity dips to 33.7%: PBAPP

The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) has reported that Air Itam Dam's effective capacity is now reduced to 33.7%, as a result of the prevailing hot and dry weather conditions.
