KANGAR — The Kangar High Court today dismissed the Perlis Football Association’s (PFA) application for an injunction to stop the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) from holding its 61st Congress on February 15.
PFA president Zamri Ibrahim confirmed the court’s decision after the hearing, which was conducted via Zoom before Judge Dr Arik Sanusi Yeop Johari.
“The injunction was rejected,” Zamri told Bernama briefly via WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, regarding PFA’s lawsuit against FAM, Zamri said the judge ruled that the case should be referred for arbitration.
In December last year, PFA, represented by Messrs Zamri Ibrahim & Co, filed an application for the injunction, naming 20 defendants, including FAM, its president Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin, vice-president Datuk Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub, and the Malaysian Sports Commissioner.
PFA also filed a lawsuit against FAM to challenge its suspension as an affiliate of the governing body, a decision made during the FAM Executive Committee Meeting on 4 December 2024. — February 7, 2025
