KUALA LUMPUR – National wheelchair tennis player Abu Samah Borhan is set to compete in his third Paralympics at Paris 2024, slated to be held from August 28 until September 8.

This announcement follows confirmation from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Monday that Wheelchair Tennis Malaysia (WTM) successfully secured a bipartite application for Abu Samah, allowing him to feature in both the men’s singles and doubles in Paris.

According to a statement by WTM, the 2017 ASEAN Para Games champion was pleased to be able to compete in his third successive Paralympic Games after Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

The 39-year-old also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to WTM, the National Sports Council, ITF and the International Paralympic Committee for their support to play in the world’s top multi-sports games.

In a similar statement, WTM president Muhd Iqbal Sulaiman said Abu Samah and Mohammad Yusshazwan Yusuf, who qualified on merit for Paris 2024, will have a training stint with the French team from August 25 to 27 as part of their final preparation before the Games begins.
