KUALA LUMPUR – The independent First Instance Body (FIB) has confirmed that Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) has settled its players’ and officials’ salary arrears for the year 2023 prior to the April 20 deadline.

This confirmation is based on a letter dated April 18 and payment documents submitted to the Malaysia Football League (MFL), which were subsequently reviewed by the FIB.

KDA FC has completed all outstanding salary payments to players and officials for its Super League, Under-23, Under-20, and Under-18 teams.

“However, there are two players who have yet to receive their payments due to ongoing cases at FIFA and the National Dispute Resolution Chamber. The players are Lee Tuck and Jonathan Boareto dos Reis.

“Despite this, all outstanding payments, as directed by the FIB, have been settled by KDA FC to ensure the club’s eligibility for a national licence to play in the Super League for the 2024-2025 season,” said FIB chairman Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif in a statement today.

At the same time, the FIB has upheld the three-point deduction for the 2024-2025 Super League season and a RM50,000 fine imposed earlier on KDA FC.

This penalty was a consequence of the club’s failure to fully settle all salary arrears for the previous year on March 30, despite being granted an extension until April 20 by the FIB. — April 22, 2024
