KUALA LUMPUR – National women’s cyclist Nurul Izzah Izzati Asri bagged her second gold medal at the Asian Track Cycling Championships in New Delhi, India in the 500m time trial.
In the final at the Indira Gandhi Velodrome today, the 21-year-old, Nurul Izzah clocked the fastest time of 34.388s to finish ahead of South Korea’s Hwang Hyeon-seo (34.802s) and China’s Luo Shuyan (34.958s).

Yesterday, Nurul Izzah created history by ending Malaysia’s 12-year gold medal drought in the women’s keirin event after a blistering performance.
Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Datuk Azizulhasni Awang paid tribute to Nurul Izzah’s performance as a “signal to Malaysia’s sporting landscape that she has a bright future”.
Earlier, she won the silver medal in the team sprint event together with Anis Amirah Rosidi and Nur Aliana Syafika Azizan.
She then backed that performance with a bronze in the individual sprint event. – February 26, 2024
