KUALA LUMPUR – National diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri has revealed feeling the weight of stress after missing out on her main event participation at the recent World Championships held in Doha.
Despite her willingness to compete in any event, Dhabitah confessed to feeling the pressure, especially considering her age and the heightened risk of injury.
“It’s not that I intend to get injured or perform poorly, but managing injuries while competing across different events is incredibly challenging,” she said.
Grateful for avoiding serious injury, Dhabitah highlighted the physical toll, particularly as she ages.
“At this stage, I feel the burden keenly. Illnesses become more prevalent,” she added, reported Astro Arena.
Reflecting on her experience, Dhabitah recounted a tricep injury sustained during training in Doha, hindering her performance during the competition.
Dhabitah’s setback marks the second disappointment for the Road to Gold programme, following a subpar showing in both the individual 3m springboard and synchronised 3m springboard events with Ng Yan Yee.
Additionally, her partnership with Datuk Pandelela Rinong in the 10m synchronised platform event failed to deliver the desired results. – February 12, 2023
