KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari anticipates that the recent agreement inked to initiate the development process of the Shah Alam Stadium will invigorate fervent support among fans of the state football team.
Through a posting on his official Facebook page, Amirudin expressed optimism over the stadium’s redevelopment plan.
“The upcoming Shah Alam Stadium Sports Complex, once completed, is poised to illuminate the fervour of Selangor FC supporters and catalyse broader sports development in the region,” read the post.
Previously, Amirudin disclosed plans for the gradual demolition of the current stadium, commencing with the installation of a retaining wall, followed by the dismantling process, all of which is anticipated to span to the middle of next year.
Emphasising stringent adherence to standards mandated by the state government and local authorities, Amirudin underscored the necessity for exemplary infrastructure development practices, particularly on such a significant scale.
“Alhamdulillah, an agreement has been formalised between MBI and MRCB to commence the development of the Shah Alam Stadium Sports Complex, spearheaded by the Menteri Besar of Selangor Incorporated through the leadership of the Special Projects Unit, helmed by YBhg Datuk Ir Ruslan bin Abdul Aziz and his team,” he added.
The signing ceremony, witnessed by Amirudin on February 6, saw the agreement signed between MBI and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB).
Lembaran Prospek Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MRCB Land Sdn Bhd, has been entrusted with the task of executing the demolition process.
The revitalisation of the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) will be spelt out in a separate agreement.
Amirudin assured stakeholders that MBI, in collaboration with the developer, will implement a comprehensive mitigation plan to minimise any adverse impacts throughout the demolition phase.
“MBI and MRCB are committed to adhering to the directives of local authorities to oversee and regulate demolition activities effectively.
“These protocols will be communicated transparently to all concerned parties throughout the entirety of the demolition phase,” Amirudin affirmed. – February 8, 2024
