MIAG Swimming Championships designated as qualifying meet for Paris 2024

It will also serve as qualifying round for 46th SEA age group competition, which will take place in Thailand in December

KUALA LUMPUR – The 59th Malaysia Invitational Age Group (MIAG) Swimming Championships 2024, held at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil from April 25 to 28, will serve as a qualifying round for the Olympic Games in Paris.

Malaysia Swimming (MS) secretary-general Andy Low confirmed that the MIAG Swimming Championships were approved as a Paris 2024 qualifier by the World Aquatics last December.

“In addition to qualifying for Paris 2024, the championships will serve as a qualifying meet for the 46th SEA age group competition, which will take place in Thailand this December.

“The event will also be a qualification for any other international competitions as determined by MS,” he said in a statement.

So far, no Malaysian swimmer has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11. – January 31, 2024.
