Grab unveils extensive support for 2023 Asian Cup Campaign

Grab also sponsors six driver and delivery partners to witness Harimau Malaya in action against Korea

KUALA LUMPUR — Grab Malaysia, who recently signed a partnership deal with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), has unveiled substantial support initiatives in anticipation of Harimau Malaya’s challenge at the 2023 Asian Cup.

The backing from the renowned e-hailing and food delivery company came just in time for the Kim Pan-gon-led football squad to commence their campaign on January 12 in Qatar.

This support encompasses a financial contribution dedicated to advancing national football team programmes and a value-in-kind sponsorship, encompassing a variety of products and services.

Additionally, the sponsorship offers complimentary airport rides, Grab rides, GrabFood, and GrabMart vouchers.

Grab Malaysia commercial and deliveries director JJ Tan said the company is committed to supporting Harimau Malaya.

“We understand the unwavering passion that unites our nation when it comes to supporting our team, and we share that same unwavering commitment to their success.

“Through this partnership, we will ensure their everyday needs are seamlessly taken care of, allowing them to focus entirely on delivering their best in every game.

“We are not just fueling Harimau Malaya’s journey, but also celebrating the unifying spirit of football with millions of Malaysians.”

In an added gesture, Grab will sponsor six of its driver and delivery partners to witness Harimau Malaya in action against Korea on January 25, following their recently held ‘Jom Support Harimau Malaya’ contest, which garnered almost 10,000 entries.

Furthermore, Grab is set to launch a contest on January 16, offering exclusive deals for loyal customers ahead of Harimau Malaya match days.

The contest will include food promo codes and daily lucky draws, featuring limited-edition Harimau Malaya jerseys and footballs.

Looking ahead, various engaging events and campaigns for consumers and partners are planned throughout the year to follow the team’s performances and matches.

Football Association Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Amin stated the impact of nurturing a deep love for the game among Malaysians.

“By fostering their passion for it, we hope to build a robust football ecosystem.”

In a recent closed-door friendly, Malaysia drew 2-2 against Syria at the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha.

The Malaysian team, having qualified for the Asian Cup on merit after a 42-year wait, will kick off their Group E campaign against Jordan on January 15, followed by clashes with Bahrain on January 20 and two-time champions South Korea on January 25. – January 10, 2024
