KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysia Stadium Corporation is exploring the potential sale of naming rights for the prestigious Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Speaking exclusively with Scoop, its chairman Datuk Hans Isaac revealed the corporation’s intent to discuss this strategic move in their upcoming board meeting scheduled for the end of November.
“At this stage, we are actively exploring the opportunity, with discussions at the board and management levels. However, it’s crucial to emphasise that no concrete decisions have been made yet,” said Hans when contacted.
Hans also stressed the significance of consensus within the corporation.
“Any decision related to the naming rights will require agreement and alignment among the board members and myself.”
Expanding the scope beyond the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Hans indicated that the potential naming rights sale extends to other key stadiums under their management.
These include the Jalan Duta and Bukit Kiara Sports Complex.
The move signifies a broader strategy by the corporation to explore opportunities that could contribute to the long-term sustainability and development of these sports facilities.
Last week, Sepang International Circuit announced a three-year naming rights partnership with Petronas.
This is the first time in the history of the racing circuit that it has a name sponsor, and as a result, it will be known as the Petronas Sepang International Circuit from now on. – November 6, 2023
