KUALA LUMPUR — National road cyclist Nur Aiman Rosli has achieved his lifelong dream by officially joining the Terengganu Polygone Cycling Team (TSG), a move he’s deeply grateful for as he gears up to represent the International Cycling Union (UCI) Continental team.

For Aiman, there was never any doubt about which team he wanted to join.

“TSG is my dream team. I’ve always wanted to compete alongside them, and my current focus is on staying in Malaysia.

“I do have plans to venture abroad in the future, but right now my immediate priority is honing my skills,” said the 24-year-old.

Following the closure of his former team, Team Sapura, back in June, Aiman wasted no time in seeking a spot with TSG.

“I created my resume and sent it to TSG in July. I did it as quickly as possible as UCI registration closes in October.

“I’m grateful to TSG and their chief operating officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus for giving me this opportunity to join them for the 2024 season,” said the all-rounder.

Muar-born Aiman is undaunted by the pressure of donning the TSG colours, especially after the team’s recent announcement as the top-ranked outfit in Asia for the third consecutive year, marking their fifth overall title.

With a roster teeming with talent from Malaysia and abroad, Aiman is poised for a challenging yet exhilarating experience.

“Right now, I’m preparing for the 2024 season and I’m looking to give the other riders in the team a run for their money.

“TSG hasn’t set any targets for me yet as I’ve not joined the team officially but, I will do my best to help them retain their title,” said Aiman, adding that he will be based in Terengganu from January next year.

As part of his preparation, Aiman is set to participate in a race in China with the national road cycling team led by coach Mohd Yusof Abdul Nasir.

“I will be heading to China on November 1 with the National Team.

“I want to improve and aim for top 10 classifications, or even try to get a podium finish,” he said.

Yesterday, Aiman revealed on his Instagram account that he has signed with TSG.

Nasiruddin then confirmed the announcement, that the Stage 3 white jersey winner at Le Tour de Langkawi 2023 (LTdL) has signed a one-year contract effective January 1, 2024. — October 23, 2023
