KUALA LUMPUR – National motorcycle ace Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to join the JDT Racing Team, which is set to make its debut at the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) next year.

The 29-year-old, who currently competes in the World Superbike Championship (WSBK), aims to enhance JDT’s international reputation through his performances.

“I am very grateful to his excellency Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the crown prince of Johor, for giving me the opportunity to be part of the JDT family.

“JDT has demonstrated that anyone can achieve greater heights through dedication and professionalism in their job.

“I hope to showcase my true abilities to ensure the success of the JDT Racing Team and further elevate JDT’s name in motorsports.

“If any athlete is offered an opportunity to serve JDT, they would certainly not want to miss it.

“Therefore, I eagerly anticipate working with the JDT Racing Team in 2024 in the ARRC,” said Hafizh.

In addition to football, JDT is also involved in futsal, polo, boxing, and ice hockey.

The ARRC was first organised in 1996 as part of an Asian-wide initiative to boost the development of the sport of motorcycle racing on the continent.

The championship received the endorsement of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM or International Motorcycling Federation) in 1997 and is currently divided into four open-make classes – the ASB1000 (Asia Superbikes), SuperSports 600cc, Asia Production 250cc, and Underbone 150cc.

In 2018, Hafizh became the first Malaysian racer to compete in the MotoGP World Championship. – October 10, 2023
