Asiad: Pandelela aims for gold after clinching spot in 10m platform final 

Completing preliminary round, diving queen ranks sixth among eight divers today

KUALA LUMPUR – National diving queen Datuk Pandelela Rinong has secured a spot in the finals of the women’s 10m platform event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Pandelela completed the preliminary round, ranking sixth among eight divers with a score of 239.35 points at the Hangzhou Aquatic Sports Arena today.

In her fifth appearance at the Asian Games, Pandelela will be aiming to clinch the gold medal, with her previous best performance in the 10m platform event being a bronze medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.

The 30-year-old Sarawakian has the opportunity to contribute another medal to the Malaysian camp through diving, having already secured a bronze in the 10m synchro event alongside Nur Dhabitah Sabri on Saturday. – October 3, 2023
