LTdL: Nur Aiman wants to put on a good show in his hometown

With the tour coming to an end on Saturday, today's race covers a distance of 123.8km

MELAKA – National team rider Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli is all pumped up for Stage 7 of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL), as he competes against other riders in his hometown today.

The Stage 7 route starts in Muar and ends in Seremban 2, covering a race distance of 123.8km.

It is understood that today’s route will be one of the shortest in this year’s LTdL and will be relatively flat with no climbing zones at all.

“My condition is still good, and the race will start in my hometown of Muar, so I want to show my people what I can do. I’m satisfied with my performance so far, and I will try to earn more points and initiate breakaways in Stage 7.”

Nur Aiman had held the white jersey for the Best Asian Rider classification at Stage 3 from Jeli to Baling, but unfortunately lost it in the next stage.

Yesterday, he was Malaysia’s best finisher – in 16th position – as the 24-year-old said the plan was to break away from the peloton.

“I wanted to distance myself from the peloton and earn whatever points I could to add to my overall total. The weather was hot yesterday, so I had to keep myself hydrated and consume enough food during the race to have enough energy to finish,” said Nur Aiman.

This year’s edition of the LTdL is coming to an end, with only one stage left tomorrow (Saturday), which will start in Setia Alam and end in Kuala Lumpur, covering a distance of 156.5km. – September 29, 2023
