KUALA LUMPUR – Before rocking the stage on February 24, multi-Grammy-winning British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is expected to explore a bucket list of recommendations from his most devoted Malaysian fans.

In an Instagram post from concert promoters PR Worldwide, Sheeran expressed his excitement to perform again in Kuala Lumpur, while seeking advice from fans on what to do in the city centre.

“What’s up, Malaysia? I’m coming back to play Kuala Lumpur on February 24. Hit me up with some recommendations on what to do there. I can’t wait to be back in your beautiful city!” he said in the video post.

Staying true to Malaysia’s reputation as a culinary hotspot, numerous fans suggested a variety of dining experiences, from indulging in cendol at a local stall in Taman Melawati to savouring authentic nasi lemak at Village Park.

“Late night lepak at mamak! Can’t wait to watch you this 24th!” user @luluindelulu commented.

“Go and have nasi kandar geng! But, preferably after your show, just in case,” said user @addeyadelene.

“Have a good (serving of) nasi lemak! I know you can handle the spice. Then maybe, have some roti canai,” user @syadiapawsed suggested.

Besides recommendations for him to have a short trip to Penang or base jumping at the KL Tower, some went for a more personal touch.

“(You) can come to my house, meet my cats, and I will treat the whole crew with (the) best Malaysian food,” said user @ronaldoumair.

“I will take annual leave just to bring him around!” user @ayeshaellya said excitedly.

Similarly, several other netizens said they would be honoured to be Sheeran’s personal tour guide around the city.

Sheeran will perform at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for the Kuala Lumpur leg of his “+-=÷x Asia Tour”. This concert marks his third time performing here.

He will be accompanied by fellow British singer-songwriter Calum Scott, as a guest performer.

Tickets are still available for purchase at www.golive-asia.com. However, customers must register an account with approved outlets, as unauthorised platforms may not be granted access to the concert. – February 22, 2024
