KUALA LUMPUR – The retail price of RON97 petrol will decrease by 10 sen to RM3.28 per litre, while diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will drop by seven sen to RM3.06 per litre for the period of March 13 to 19.

In a statement today, the Finance Ministry (MOF) said the retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, while diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will also remain at RM2.15 per litre.

The MOF explained that fuel prices are set based on the weekly retail pricing mechanism, which applies the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

“The government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust retail fuel prices accordingly, taking into account market price fluctuations while ensuring price stability,” the statement read.

The MOF also said that the government will keep track of global crude oil price movements and take appropriate measures to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people. – March 12, 2025
