PUTRAJAYA — The Human Resources Ministry has begun holding coordination meetings with state executive councillors to enhance collaboration between the federal and state governments on human resource-related issues.
These meetings will provide a a structured platform for discussions between both levels of government on all human resource issue, Minister Steven Sim told reporters after attending the inaugural meeting here today.
“The first meeting focuses on strengthening coordination between the federal and state governments in planning and implementing human capital development programmes.
“In addition, it also addresses critical issues such as skills training development, labour rights enforcement, occupational safety and health, industrial relations, trade unions, and social protection,” Bernama reported him saying after the inaugural State Executive Councillors Coordination (MEX KESUMA) meeting.
The federal government and state administrations will be able to formulate joint strategies to ensure Malaysia’s workforce remains competitive in an evolving global market, Sim added.
Through these joint meetings, the authorities can ensure that workforce-related policies and programmes are implemented consistently and effectively nationwide.
“We hope that MEX KESUMA will serve as a catalyst for comprehensive workforce solutions, ultimately benefiting workers, employers, and society as a whole,” he said. – February 20, 2025
