KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, who is an Umno Supreme Council member, has said that he will soon address speculations of him joining PKR.
The investment, trade and industry minister said that he would also clarify on rumours that the alleged move is linked to him replacing PKR vice-president Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as Selangor menteri besar, Bernama reported.
“I have yet to comment on the political situation involving me. At the same time, we have heard (Amirudin’s) assurance that he will serve until the end of his term.
“…however, with all the speculation swirling around, I will issue a statement on this matter in the near future,” he said at the Inklusiviti Teras Aspirasi charity run in Sg Besar today.
Asked if the claims would be raised during today’s PKR Special National Congress in Shah Alam, Tengku Zafrul said he had no information on this.
Yesterday, Amirudin, in statement reaffirmed that he will remain as Selangor menteri besar until the end of his current term.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also confirmed that he had not received any notification from Tengku Zafrul regarding his alleged resignation from the party. – December 15, 2024
