SUBANG JAYA – Local rapper Zamaera is being investigated for allegedly obstructing enforcement officers during a raid at a massage parlour in SS14, Subang Jaya.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the incident occurred during a raid conducted by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) earlier this week, where Zamaera, whose full name is Sharifah Zamaera Syed Zafilen Al Edros, was present at the premises as a customer.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect provoked members of the raiding team and failed to comply with instructions to provide her identification,” Wan Azlan said in a statement today.

He also confirmed that Zamaera used her phone to record the enforcement officers during the operation.

The situation escalated when she accused one of the officers of secretly filming her undressed while she was getting a massage. Both parties inspected the officer’s phone and found no photos or videos of her, Wan Azlan said.

Wan Azlan said that during the raid, the complainant instructed his officers to record video footage and take photographs to document the activities related to the massage, as well as to verify the centre’s business licence.

“Following the inspection, it was found that the premises did not have a valid business licence and violated the law under the 2013 Beauty and Health Centre By-Laws,” he said.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect also filmed the raid using her mobile phone. The complainant, along with the suspect, also examined the mobile phones of the officers who filmed the video and found no images or videos of the suspect.

“The complainant also clarified that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) were followed,” he added.

Wan Azlan added that the raiding team lodged a police report after the incident, while Zamaera also filed her own report, claiming misconduct by the officers.

“The investigation will cover both reports to ensure a thorough and impartial outcome,” he said.

Wan Azlan confirmed that investigations were ongoing based on reports filed by both parties under Section 186/509 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties, insulting the modesty of an individual, and and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the distribution of a video from the MPSJ operation.

The raid, part of an operation targeting unlicensed establishments in the area, has since gained attention online.

Earlier, Zamaera had posted a series of videos on X, detailing the incidents at the massage parlour that led to her accusations. – December 7, 2024
