KUALA LUMPUR — The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) of Malaysia will be hosting a charity musicfest to raise funds for Universiti Malaya Medical Centre’s (UMMC) Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Food Aid Foundation.
The event marks the fifth edition of the Retro/Country & Western Charity Musicfest and the programme’s comeback after a 10-year hiatus.
The one-day event is set to take place this Sunday, Dec 8, from 12pm to 9pm at the Commonwealth House in Damansara Heights, promising a day of unforgettable performances and charitable giving.
Food prepared by experienced in-house chiefs will also be served during the festival, which will feature ten popular local bands performing live in the name of charity.
The bands set to take to the stage that day are Nobody’s, Stag, Small Stones, Infuze Band, Clinton Fernandez, The Cauliflower Robbery, OldTimers, Karisma, Arab & Glen and Sharin Band.
Tickets are priced at RM150 per booking and can be purchased during the festival.
Commenting on the event, RCS of Malaysia chair Bernice Narayanan said the theme for the programme is focused on “nostalgia and community”.
“We believe that music has the power to bring people together and make a positive impact. We are excited to organise this charity event to raise funds for those in need,” she said in a statement. – December 6, 2024
