KUALA LUMPUR – Budget 2025 will see the consolidation of certain government-linked entities to improve their function.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the finance minister, said the entities involved are:

– Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) with the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM)

– InvestKL and Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (Mida),

– Razak School of Government (RSOG) and Institut Tadbiran Awan Negara (Intan),

– Halal Development Corp (HDC) and Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade).

Anwar said these government entities would be consolidated and merged because they are almost similar functions.

On reducing further wastage, he said the government would also assess vacant spaces and buildings owned by GLCs, GLICs and government agencies with the aim of repurposing them as pre-schools, kindergartens or as training centres. – October 18, 2024
