KUALA LUMPUR — The body of a 36-year-old freelance interior designer, with an estimated 20 stab wounds, was discovered by police in his apartment at Bandar Sri Damansara today.

In a statement, Petaling Jaya district police chief Shahrulnizam Ja’afar said that police received a report from the victim’s neighbour around 1am, following sounds of a fight at approximately 11pm the previous night.

The neighbour filed the report after the victim, who had purchased the apartment last year, was not seen leaving his unit following the altercation.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim deceased, with multiple stab wounds believed to have caused his death.

“The victim is suspected to have been killed by an unidentified individual,” Shahrulnizam said.

The victim, who lived alone, suffered five stab wounds to his left rib area, six to his head, and nine to both wrists.

His body has been sent to Sg Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at 03-7966 2222. – September 16, 2024
