Can you truly trust Umno members to be clean and unquestionable, asks Wan Saiful

He says Bersatu leaders unfairly targeted with legal action

KUALA LUMPUR – Tasek Gelugor MP, Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, has claimed that Bersatu is being unfairly targeted with its leaders, including himself, facing legal action.

He questioned why Umno has not been subjected to the same scrutiny.

“Logically speaking, do you really believe that Umno members are completely clean and trustworthy? Do you trust them?” he asked.

Wan Saiful, who also serves on Bersatu’s Supreme Council, expressed these views during his appearance on Scoop’s podcast, Trick Lama, recently.

The podcast is hosted by Big Boom Media’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Zainul Arifin Mohammed Isa, Group Executive Director, Datuk Ahirudin Attan (better known as Rocky Bru), and Group Editor-in-Chief, Terence Fernandez.

Wan Saiful also addressed calls for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to step down as Bersatu’s president and allow younger leaders to take the reins, stating that he disagrees with this view.

According to Wan Saiful, Muhyiddin is crucial to steering the transition within Bersatu, and he is already taking steps towards this.

“He has announced the candidates for deputy president and vice-president positions in the upcoming party elections, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition,” he said.

These were among the heated topics discussed on the Trick Lama podcast. – September 4, 2024
