Selangor state secretariat bus crashes into ditch after avoiding motorcyclist

Seven suffer serious injuries from the 21 passengers boarded on bus

KUALA LUMPUR – A bus belonging to the Selangor State Secretariat crashed into a two-metre deep ditch in a road accident involving a motorcycle in Taman Damai, Banting today. 

According to an initial incident report by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre, the incident is believed to have been caused by the bus driver’s attempt to avoid the motorcyclist. 

The Honda EX5 motorcyclist was not located by authorities. 

Among the 21 passengers who were on board the bus, which departed from the Selangor court complex, seven have been sent to Banting Hospital and are currently receiving urgent care after suffering serious injuries. 

While the remaining passengers sustained light injuries and efforts are ongoing by a total of 11 dispatched fire and rescue personnel to extract the male bus driver. 

The department received an emergency call about the incident at 1.07pm today. – August 21, 2024
