Warnings have also been issued for the Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak.

MetMalaysia explained that warnings are issued when signs of a thunderstorm with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are observed or expected to persist for over an hour. A thunderstorm warning is considered a short-term alert and is valid for up to six hours.

In Perak, rain is expected in Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, and Kuala Kangsar. In Kelantan, places likely affected include Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Bachok, and Pasir Puteh.

Terengganu will see thunderstorms in Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Dungun.

In Pahang, Cameron Highland, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, and Rompin will see heavy rain. The areas affected in Negeri Sembilan are Jelebu and Jempol, and finally, in Johor, Segamat.
