KUALA LUMPUR – Six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui, who had been missing since last Saturday, has been found.
Confirming this to Scoop, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said she was found in Batang Kali, Selangor.
Albertine was noticed missing by her father at around 8.30pm, while she was attending a Bon Odori festival event with her family on July 20 at a shopping centre in the Eco Galleria business centre in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
It was reported that the three suspects arrested yesterday to help in the case were remanded for four days to assist with the investigation.
Magistrate Suhaili Sapun granted a four-day remand order on all the suspects from today until July 26.
Police arrested the suspects, aged between 28 and 55, in the Iskandar Puteri and Gelang Patah areas at around 1.30pm in connection with the investigation into the girl’s disappearance.
In a press conference earlier, Johor police chief M. Kumar said police officers had raided a room at a budget hotel at about 4am and found the missing girl.
A 31-year-old man was also arrested at the same location.
“Initially, we arrested four suspects, including two women, around Iskandar Puteri and Johor Bahru.
“Their arrest then led us to the fifth suspect and the victim,” he said, adding that all five suspects are not known to the victim and her family. – July 23, 2024
