KUALA LUMPUR – The Elena Cooke Education Fund (ECEF) has extended the deadline for scholarship applications to June 17, with the goal of giving more students the opportunity.

Originally scheduled to end today, June 10, the application period has been extended by one week. The fund’s chairperson, Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim, shared with Scoop that this extension is intended to encourage more students to apply.

Established in memory of the late Miss Elena Cooke, the esteemed former principal of Bukit Bintang Girls’ School, the ECEF aims to extend financial support to students whose household income is below RM60,000 annually.

The fund is focused on helping less fortunate students with average scores to pursue their higher education, in contrast to other scholarship initiatives that only assist top scorers.

Eligible applicants include those from financially challenged families with a minimum academic performance of 3As in SPM, 2Bs in STPM, or 6Bs in the Unified Examination Certificate examinations.

Interested students can visit the scholarship page to review the terms and conditions and submit their applications before the June 17 deadline. – June 10, 2024
