KUALA LUMPUR – A large tree has fallen near Plaza PK in Taman Kinrara, causing damage to seven vehicles.

However, no injuries were reported, according to the Fire and Rescue Department.

In an initial report, the department’s Puchong operations commander Mohd Azri Kamil Maarof said work to remove the tree was still underway.

Nine firemen were deployed for the works, as well as one firetruck and emergency medical rescue service vehicle.

According to City Hall’s Kuala Lumpur Command and Control Centre (KLCCC DBKL), the incident has led to the complete closure of the road in front of the Jalan Puchong AmBank branch there.

“A tree has fallen along the parking lot of AmBank Jalan Puchong towards Jalan Klang Lama. The passage in front of AmBank has been fully closed,” the centre said on Facebook.

“The Fire and Rescue Department (personnel) and police multi-purpose vehicle are on location.”

Additionally, traffic is slow from Bulatan Kepong to Bulatan Batu Caves, adding to the delays, the centre said in another update.

On Jalan Sg Besi, traffic is extremely slow from Tun Razak Exchange to Wisma Mah Sing, impacting those travelling on this major route.

Jalan Tun Razak is experiencing severe congestion in multiple sections, with traffic heavily backed up from Bulatan Pahang to the National Heart Institute and vice versa.

There is also heavy traffic from the US Embassy to the RHB building, with slow-moving traffic in the reverse direction as well.

The KL-Seremban highway is seeing heavy congestion reported from the Sg Besi toll plaza to Petronas/Shell Technology Park Malaysia, and vice versa.

Drivers on Jalan Mahameru are also facing significant delays, with heavy traffic both ways between Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim exit and Muzium Negara.
