KUALA LUMPUR – Fire and rescue personnel dispatched to unlock two separate apartments in Puchong and Kota Damansara were greeted with the discovery of bodies in the units.
Manpower from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department were sent to the scene – one in Siantan Apartment, Putra Perdana, and the other in a People’s Housing Project (PPR) on Jalan Pekaka 8/1 – after police requested aid.
In an incident report for the body found in Siantan Apartment, the department’s operations centre said the Cyberjaya station had received a call from police regarding the locked door at 2.03pm today.
Eight personnel from the station were subsequently sent to the scene, following which the body of a female was found after firefighters successfully unlocked the unit’s door using special equipment.
Meanwhile, the Sg Buloh fire station received a call from police at 4pm regarding the PPR unit, where seven personnel later found the body of a male in his 60s after the door was unlocked.
The homes where both bodies were found appeared to be in disarray, according to images shared by the department with the media.
Both bodies have been handed over to police for further action.
Meanwhile, police have classified the case involving a woman found dead at her home at Siantan Apartment, Taman Putra Perdana near here today as sudden death.
According to Bernama, Sepang deputy police chief G. Shan Gopal said the 46-year-old woman was believed to have lived alone, adding that further investigation revealed that her neighbours had not seen the woman for about two weeks and attempts to contact her had failed.
“Investigations at the scene also did not find any criminal elements. The possibility is that her death was caused by chronic illness,” he said in a statement today.
Shan Gopal said the post-mortem would be conducted tomorrow.
He advised the public to refrain from speculating upon and spreading false news regarding the incident. – May 26, 2024
