KUALA LUMPUR – The unity government leadership council will meet today to discuss opposition MPs’ demands for allocations.

It is understood that the meeting is scheduled to take place at 5.30pm at the prime minister’s official residence, Seri Perdana, in Putrajaya.

Leaders of the unity government, representing each coalition, are expected to attend the meeting, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was previously reported to have said that the meeting would take place today, following his discussion with opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin in Parliament on March 19.

“The opposition said they want allocations, and any conditions (to provide allocations) are up to the government (to set),” he said.

He had also conveyed to them that this matter would be brought to the unity government leadership council.

Last year, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man reportedly said that three Perikatan Nasional MPs – opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Kota Bharu MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, and Putrajaya MP Datuk Radzi Jidin – had been appointed to hold negotiations with Fadillah. – April 17, 2024
