KUALA LUMPUR – Commuters who are eager to get home after work are stuck waiting as the Kelana Jaya LRT line is only running with limited trains after a lightning strike affected its power supply system.

The LRT service is now operating at a frequency of four to five minutes.

In a statement today, rail operator Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said trains that were supposed to leave the Subang LRT depot were stuck following the 3.30pm incident.

Escalators, lights and lifts at three LRT stations – Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia and Taman Jaya are also affected.

Repair works are being carried out by the engineering team.

Rapid Rail suggested some alternative rail routes for passengers, such as:

– KL Sentral LRT-Muzium Negara MRT and Monorail KL

– Dang Wangi LRT-Bukit Nanas monorail

– KLCC LRT-Persiaran KLCC MRT

– Ampang Park LRT-Ampang Park MRT – April 16, 2024
