KUALA LUMPUR ā Two areas in Selangor recorded unhealthy air quality levels as of 8am today due to a slight haze.
According to the Environment Department’s Air Pollution Index (API), the air quality at Banting and Klang stations reached unhealthy levels of 163 and 135, respectively.
Meanwhile, the department’s website also showed that 48 locations nationwide recorded moderate air quality readings ranging between 51 and 100, with Rompin and Nilai both registering at 99, Balok Baru Kuantan at 98, Cheras at 96, and Putrajaya at 95.
An API reading of 101 to 200 is categorised as unhealthy, while an air quality reading of between 0 and 50 is considered good.
The air quality drops to a very unhealthy level if an area or station registers an API reading of 201 to 300, while an API reading of 300 and above is hazardous. ā April 9, 2024
