KUALA LUMPUR – Seputeh MP Teresa Kok of DAP has rubbished her involvement with any associations linked to the Taman OUG morning market, which she claimed to have misused her identity in a TikTok video to collect money from vendors.
She alleged that the association made false statements by saying she was a patron, even though the video has been taken down.
In response, she has lodged a report at the Brickfields district police headquarters here today, urging authorities to investigate the incident.
In the video, a trader said the group claimed to be representing Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) but was unable to offer any supporting documents.
Referring to this, Kok said DBKL has never given permission to third parties to collect money for cleanliness purposes.
“The cleanliness of the Taman OUG morning market is the responsibility of DBKL. No one should be collecting money from the vendors for this purpose.
“DBKL issued a notice regarding the same issue on October 14 last year.”
She also refuted that an individual named Tony Tan was her former personal assistant.
“Tony Tan says that he was my PA (in the video). I never had a PA like him”. – March 18, 2024
