Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4 among last films to catch at GSC 3 Damansara before curtains close

Cinema branch will shut down effective tomorrow after 15 years of operating

KUALA LUMPUR – Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) 3 Damansara will have its last showing of movies today as the cinema will be shut down effective tomorrow. 

On March 7, GSC announced that it would be shutting down its operations for GSC in 3 Damansara after 15 years. 

GSC 3 Damansara first opened on June 20, 2009. 

Based on its website, the movies still showing today are Dune: Part Two, Kung Fu Panda 4, and Time Still Turns the Pages. 

In its statement on Facebook, GSC said that with the closure, the public can visit nearby cinemas including GSC The Starling Mall, GSC Paradigm Mall, GSC 1 Utama and GSC Tropicana Gardens Mall. 

“Since our opening on June 20, 2009, it has been an incredible journey. We are very grateful for your continued support and enthusiasm over the past 15 years. 

“The joy and emotions you have shared, your laughter, surprises and applause will always resonate with us,” the post read. 

This will be GSC’s third outlet to cease operations after Alamanda in Putrajaya on  August 14 and GSC Berjaya Times Square on November 27 last year.

Previously it was reported that GSC’s parent company, PPB Group Bhd, recorded RM120 million in net losses in 2023, compared to RM17 million in losses in 2022. – March 17, 2024
