KUALA LUMPUR – Singapore Airlines’ low-cost carrier Scoot has added two new Southeast Asian destinations – Malaysia’s Sibu and Koh Samui in Thailand – that its fleet of new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft will fly to starting in May.

The new fleet will also service existing routes to Malaysia’s Kuantan and Miri, as well as Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand.

Scoot will be getting the first of nine aircraft in April, delivered from Embraer’s manufacturing facility in Sao José dos Campos, Brazil. Embraer is the third-largest producer of civil aircraft after Boeing and Airbus.

The new aircraft, nicknamed Explorer 3.0, will take over Scoot’s existing flights to Krabi and Hat Yai from May 7, increasing flight frequencies to both destinations from seven to 10 times weekly.

The second E2 is also scheduled for delivery in April, with daily flights to Koh Samui to start on May 13, with the frequency progressively increasing to twice daily from early June.

The carrier will increase its frequency to Miri and Kuantan from three to four times weekly from May 20 and June 3, respectively, as well as thrice weekly flights to Sibu from June 5.

Together with destinations served by Scoot‘s existing fleet, the airline would operate 103 times weekly to Malaysia and 92 times weekly to Thailand by June.

All-in sale fares for Economy class start at SG$172 to Koh Samui and SG$72 to Sibu, inclusive of taxes. – March 6, 2024
