KUALA LUMPUR – Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has urged Seputeh MP Teresa Kok to come forward and file a police report regarding the alleged racist statements issued by lecturer Datuk Teo Kok Seong recently.
Speaking to Scoop, Razarudin said that as an MP, Kok should know better the procedures that need to be done to enable the police to investigate the matter.
“Tell her (Kok) to make a police report. If the report contains facts that suggest racism, we (the police) will investigate.”
Meanwhile, yesterday, in the Dewan Rakyat session, Kok questioned the criteria used by the police to open investigations against politicians, especially involving allegations of sedition.

In her statement, Kok cited the example of DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, who was summoned by the police because of his statement that touched on the possibility of a non-Malay being appointed as prime minister.
The same goes for former DAP political adviser Tony Pua, who was called in to give his statement under the Sedition Act.
However, Kok said the matter is different from Teo, who is accused of making racist statements about vernacular schools on “The Merdeka Times” TikTok account.
“Many honorable members of the Dewan Rakyat and I studied at a Chinese school. We were never taught to look down on the Malays.
“Professor Teo Kok Seong’s statement really distorts the facts and distorts the relationship between the Malay and Chinese communities.
“This is incitement. Why are these racist and twisted statements not being investigated by the police?” Kok questioned. – March 5, 2024
