Badrul Hisham heads Registration Dept effective today

He replaces Zamri Misman, who has been transferred to legal affairs division

KUALA LUMPUR – The Home Ministry’s registration and organisation division secretary Badrul Hisham Alias was appointed as the new director-general of the National Registration Department effective today.

The NRD in a statement announced the appointment to replace Zamri Misman who was transferred to the legal affairs division in the Prime Minister’s Department on February 2.

Badrul Hisham, 52, has served in the public service for 27 years, starting with his appointment as an administrative and diplomatic officer in 1997.

He had also served in the NRD as the finance and development division director and the identification card division director from 2015 to 2022, before he went to the Home Ministry as the registration and organisation division secretary on July 18 2022.

Apart from that, the NRD also announced the appointment of Sarinah Apisah as its deputy director-general for operations on February 26, to replace Saiful Yazan Alwi who was assigned to the Checkpoints and Border Agency.

“The NRD expresses its appreciation and thanks to Zamri and Saiful Yazan for all their contributions and service to the NRD,” according to the statement. – February 28, 2024
