Leaky swimming pool possible cause for landslip at Jalan Taman Pantai

Fire and Rescue Dept currently draining it to prevent further damage, no injuries recorded

KUALA LUMPUR – A leaking swimming pool is believed to have caused a landslip at Jalan Taman Pantai, Bangsar here.

Currently, the Fire and Rescue Department is draining the pool to prevent further erosion in the affected area.

So far, no injuries have been recorded and the house structure is not affected.

The operations centre here received an emergency call at 10.45am today, prompting the authorities to deploy a total of 17 personnel and support machinery from the Seputeh station.

Upon inspection, it was found the landslip was likely caused by a leak from the swimming pool, which also affected the pool and house right below.

The water is being drained from the initial pool, to prevent more soil movement and possibly another landslip.

A report will be submitted to Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s slope unit, police and the house contractors for further action. – February 3, 2024
