KUALA LUMPUR – Flight disruptions continue at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport with 216 domestic flights cancelled today, affecting at least 32,300 passengers.

Japan Airlines (JAL) accounted for 100 flights, All Nippon Airways (ANA) 96, Starflyer 14, and Solaseed Air 6.

Disruptions are expected to continue tomorrow as 98 JAL and 96 ANA flights have been cancelled.

There was also no congestion at the airport and many flight tickets were available despite Japan having a three-day weekend.

This comes after a collision between a JAL passenger jet and a coastguard aircraft on Tuesday.

Japan’s Land and Transport Ministry said the runway where the collision took place would be open on Monday.

With this, ANA and JAL will resume their flights. – January 6, 2024
