A New Year’s outing ordeal: duo shoots three friends at Sibu cafe

Victims aged between 27 and 33 are reported to be hospitalised but in stable condition

KUALA LUMPUR – A relaxing outing among friends at a Sibu coffee shop in Sarawak turned bloody when two unknown assailants rushed in on a motorcycle and shot three of the men.

The victims escaped death on New Year’s Day and are now in stable condition at a private hospital.

Sibu police chief Zulkipli Suhaili told Borneo Post Online that the victims are aged between 27 and 33.

“The police are conducting investigations under Section 307 of the Penal Code (for attempted murder).”

The police are expected to address the incident in a press conference today. – January 2, 2024
